Saturday mornings during the winter and spring months are eagerly anticipated by many in the UK. Parents, volunteers, coaches and players wake up with excitement, it’s match day!
Andy O’Donnell (FLAT’s Marketing Director and Assistant Manager of AFC Market Bosworth Under 8s) is no exception. Andy can be found braving the elements most Saturday mornings, setting up the pitch for the impending match and putting the team through their warm-up routine.
“It’s a delight!” O’Donnell comments. “In addition to training during the week, coaching the team and seeing them improve, sometimes game by game is great fun and so satisfying to see. We have a great bunch of kids in our squad, many of whom have been playing with us since they were 4 years old.”
“I’m passionate about children being active at a young age – they learn so many life skills, keep fit, gain confidence and wonderful friendships along the way.”
Barry Mancell (FLAT Chief Operating Officer) commented “Supporting the local communities within which we work is important to FLAT. These communities sustain us, provide our members of staff and it’s right that we should support them”.
When the U7 team transitioned to U8s this season, FLAT purchased the kit and became the team sponsor.
“Having FLAT purchase kit for the squad was a proud moment” said O’Donnell. “The company is supporting the children, the community, and enabling the team to do what they love.”
